Add a New Bit Run

Add a new bit run to add a set of properties necessary for the International Association of Drilling Contractors (IADC) report. All yellow highlighted fields are mandatory for starting a new Bit run.

Steps

  1. Select TOUR DATA>Bit Run.
The Bit Run Data window opens.

  2. Click .
    OR
    Click .
A blank Bit Run window opens.

  3. Type the Bit Run number, which is a sequence number starting with 1 and uniquely identifies the bit run.
Note: A bit re-run creates a new bit run number.

  4. Select the appropriate BHA run number of where the bit is located from the BHA Run drop-down list.
Note: This links the bit to the BHA.

  5. Select the size of the Bit from the drop-down list.

  6. Type the IADC bit code.

  7. Type the Depth In, which is required to associate the drilling parameters encountered with the current Bit.
Note: The Depth In and Depth Out are the Measured Depth (MD) hole depth at the start and end of the Bit run.

  8. Type the Depth Out, which is required to associate the drilling parameters encountered with the current Bit. Note: The Depth In and Depth Out are the Measured Depth (MD) hole depth at the start and end of the Bit run.

  9. Select the Date In to indicate what day the Bit Run starts.
Note: The Bit Run's Date In and Time In combination allows TourNet processes to determine the correct Bit Run to the appropriate data.

  10. Select the Date Out to indicate what day the Bit Run was completely over.
Note: The Bit Run's Date Out and Time Out combination allows TourNet processes to determine the correct Bit Run to the appropriate data.

Bit Wear

  1. Select the inner wear from the Inner drop-down list.

  2. Select the outer wear from the Outer drop-down list.

  3. Select the dull wear from the Dull drop-down list.

  4. Select the location of the wear from the Location drop-down list.

  5. Select the bearing wear from the Bearing/Seals drop-down list.

  6. Select the gauge wear from the Gauge drop-down list.

  7. Select the Other Dell Char failure option from the drop-down list.

  8. Select the reason for the failure from the Reason Pulled drop-down list.

  9. Type the applicable Bit Wear Comment.

  1. Add a New Bit Nozzle.

Tour Data
