Create a Dependency Between Tasks

Create dependencies between tasks to show the following the following scheduling rules:

• Start-to-Start - The tasks must began at the same time.

• Finish-to-Start - The first task must be completed before the second task can start.

• Finish-to-Finish - The tasks must complete at the same time.

• Start-to-Finish - The tasks must begin before the second task starts.

Steps

1. Navigate to Planner.
   OR
   Navigate to Planner with Selected Project.
   The Planner opens.
   

2. Select the end of one task by clicking and holding the mouse button.

3. Drag the cursor to the beginning of another task until the green check mark () appears.
   Notice the dotted line between the two task with the message stating,
   "From: Task #2 - End
   To: Milestone Task - Start"
   

4. Release the mouse and an arrow appears from the first task to the second task.

   Add dependencies in the Task Information dialog box and adding dependencies in the Dependencies tab.
